MH4U LBG Beginner’s Guide
It separates itself from heavy bowgun by being mobile and having rapid fire capability. Light bowgun is also pretty ammo efficient as rapid fire only uses 1 bullet in the clip to fire multiple shots. As such, light bowgun is relatively common online and for time attacks. Style Differences can be found here. Adept is a very popular style of LBG due to the ability to adept evade through attacks, power reloads, and ability to create space after an adept evade.
Alchemy isn't used in time attacks but it can be good to put you and your teammates into high lv sp modes for long multimonster hunts. Alchemy gunner only makes items to get access to high lv sp modes so Striker tends to be more desirable as striker can charge hunter arts slightly faster. There are a lot of ways to use LBG. Typically you'll see pierce, elemental, or status. Pierce is pure raw damage with huge stock of ammo thanks to rapid fire and combines.
Elemental is as the name implies and focuses on element spam. A very common setup is a status lbg and 3 heavy bowguns for dps. As for locking down the monster, usually LBGs do the following:. As one would expect, solo runs does not use status. For damage you want either pierce or element.
Both narga LBGs are used for pierce due to high natural affinity, rapid fire pierce 1s, and good raw. Generally speaking silverwind is better than regular narga but regular narga has 2 slots for easier armor sets. Dragon shots are not used due to high recoil on those shots. Barioth GU Link is pretty good for ice. Also, fuck the Portable team for making element even less useful most monsters introduced in Gen are resistant to element, including most of the deviants.
I presume this carries on for XX. As for element, there's only a couple of monsters I'd use element against and yeah the new deviants in XX are weaker to raw than element. I'm actually not too much of a fan of LBG.In Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, the latest arrival of the series in the West, you can enjoy the ultimate monster hunting experience, with the largest selection of monsters to hunt and equipment to craft!

A pretty complete light bow gun guide for mhgu - Part 2: Pierce Shot. However, a lbg shines as it is one of the best support class in the game since you can sheath your weapons so fast and you can set up traps flash bombs life powder etc, etc, etc. In this post, we are going to talk about lbgs that use physical-based ammo as their main damage source. Aside from internal shots, there are three main ammo categories that is physic-based: Normal, Pierce and Pellet.
Unlike in 4U, pierce shot in mhxx doesn't actually "pierce" the monster, but more like slide on the surface of the monster's hitbox very obvious when fighting lao shan lung. Because of the difference in motion value, pierce shots generally deals more damage than normal shots per shot. Rapid pierce 2 has a medium recoil, thus when we are talking about pierce 2 lbgs, we generally that holds a large clip of pierce 2 rather than lbgs that can rapid pierce 2.
Basarios however element shots are better. Deviljho and Savage Deviljho Only when facing you. Gammoth and ElderFrost Gammoth Head. Rapid pierce 1 is okay, though. A rapid pierce 1 has a penality of 0. Akantor and Ukanlos some may even argue pierce 1 does more damge than normal 2. GendromeGiadromeIodromeGreat Maccao too small for pierce 1, but who cares. Soulseer Mizutsune One of the only few cases that normal 2 works better than pierce 1.
Shot Booster : the window for pierce shot's critical distance is rather small, shot booster is almost a must for pierce bow guns.
Unless you are with a God's Isle, but again Although pierce shot doesn't benefit fully from Weakness exploit unlike normal 2, it still can increase your damage output by a large amount.Submissions must be directly relevant to Monster Hunter Non-Monster Hunter related material will be removed at moderator discretion.

To those that have a substantial amount of time invested in the Light Bowgun, which weapon would you recommend for a player dedicated to using Pierce Shot? The names on those bowguns are actually misleading.
The pierce one is best for lightning ele damage. I got the tobi guns as substitute and it already make me the part breaker every round Great Bowgun, the arena weapon. It's also the best status gun so that's nice.
That "Pierce" gun is a good alternative, too, but it lacks NEB. I'm going to try to get my hands on the "Great Bowgun," so I can test which of the two seems to perform better. Three people so far have recommended it, so it must be pretty effective in the field.
With this, and the fact that it has a Gem 3 slot, the weapon itself has proven pretty good thus far. I can't wait to try it out today. Can it make use of all 5 elemental damage boosts in addition to critical element? Crit element is a must and all element damage for bowguns benefit from only the first 3 ele damage boosts.
I have it, but for me its called "support" unless people are talking about a different one. It's literally a better version of shattercyst all around.Dont think that a higher level means more dmg.
Used for monsters with really small weakspots. This shot fires a single bullet to the enemy that causes dmg and spreads out more bullets in Lvl3. Level 3 in terms of monsters desings and usage is trash, and Level 1 is obviously trash. You use it on monsters that have medium-large weakspots.
A lot of bullets are fired. In Multi this is not a really recomended thing.
Pewpew ~ A In Depth Light Bowgun Guide (MHGU)
Elemental Ammo thats really useful against monsters with bad hitzones and good elemental hitzones Aka weaker to Element than Raw. Every RapidShot has his own modifier. They give a boost to the rapid fire shots and deals more dmg. All numbers round down so its only With Bonus shot you fire 4 times, so This is the key to become good at LBG. If you do it well, you would be able to be more aggresive than before. To do it. You need to have your Bowguns on Option1, you use the camera controls to aim vertically and the circle pad to aim horizontal aiming patterns suck as left or right.
That would end the turn around animation and save time and maybe save your life. MaiLBG vs Alatreon 7'20" Uni Duo vs Deviljho 3'32" Ghana vs DeviantGamooth 11'08" Can you help me out with some mix sets. I want a mix set for ls and gs for gen. I am not good at mix sets so. This guide aims to do 4 things for you:. Approach the game as if it were turn-based. For every attack a monster does, they leave themselves open for a short amount of time. Your goal as a gunner is to avoid that initial attack and punish that opening. The general flow of combat will be dodge, punish, dodge, punish, dodge, punish.
As an LBG-er, you can generally wedge in about 3 or 4 normal shots or a single volley per opening. Part of the process of learning each monster is identifying which attacks are punishable and where to stand to optimize your avoidance-punish cycle.
LBGs are elemental weapons. As such, it is extremely important that you bring the right bowgun for the monster. Get familiar with Kiranico and do your research before taking them on.
Match elemental weaknesses and make a note of high-damage hitzones. Where you hit the monster is super important for achieving good, and often superior kill times compared to our Blademaster brethren. First — Look up the monster you want to kill.
Second — Look at the Damage Chart. Note which element column has the biggest numbers. Tetsucabra is weak to water. Third — Write down or memorize which three regions have the biggest numbers in the weak element waterin this case column. These are the parts you will be aiming for with your elemental shots. Fourth — Similarly, write down or memorize which three regions have the biggest numbers in the Shot column. These are the parts you will be aiming for with your raw shots.
I found the best balance is choosing a set with one evasive skill and then focusing on offense. Gunners, unlike Blademasters, actually have to put thought into managing their inventory space.
